The Bokajan District Convention was held successfully from November 24th to November 26th, 2023, at St. John Believers Eastern Church in Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Diphu. Themed around “O send out thy light and thy truth…” (Psalm 43:3), the convention aimed to encourage, strengthen and uplift the faithful of the local parishes.
Gathering over 700 believers and priests from 14 local churches across the district, the event proved to be a unifying and blessed experience. The Vicar General of Diphu Diocese, the Chowkihola Mission Provincial Vicar, the Diocese WF Leader, and the Associate Vicar of Dokmoka Mission Province were the main resource persons who spoke on themes of unity and oneness, the significance of the Christian family, the pivotal role of children and youth as the church’s future, the purpose and importance of the church, and profound lessons extracted from the life of King David.
Highlighting the convention was the solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist, a poignant moment that brought the faithful together to commemorate the pain, suffering, and crucifixion of Lord Jesus Christ. The reception of the body and blood of Jesus evoked deep emotions, moving some attendees to tears.
The event concluded on a vibrant note with a cultural night, where devout believers from local churches showcased their diverse talents. Solo performances, group songs, choreography, and cultural dances highlighted the rich tapestry of traditions within the community, adding a joyous and celebratory conclusion to the convention.
