Over 170 Prison Inmates Receive Hygiene Items on Global Handwashing Day

Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Bilaspur held a Global Handwashing Day program in a district jail on 15 October 2019.

During the program, Yacob Mor Theophanous Episcopa shared about the benefits of washing hands with soap and how everyone can be protected from dangerous diseases by washing hand in a proper way. Followed by, one of the church priests demonstrated the steps for washing hands with soap.

The program concluded with the distribution of hygiene items such as toothpaste, brush, soap and oil to the prison inmates by Yacob Mor Theophanous Episcopa. He also personally met the prisoners and prayed for them.

A total of 177 prisoners received the hygiene items that day. As a result of the awareness program, they pledged to make proper hand washing a habit.
