The bustling premises of the Holy Trinity Believers Eastern Church in Jhapa District reverberated with joy and learning as the Sunday school ministry of the Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Birtamod orchestrated a vibrant One-day Kids Day Camp on November 13th, 2023.
The camp welcomed a jubilant group of 100 children alongside devoted Sunday school teachers hailing from three distinct parishes.
Inaugurating the event, the diocesan vicar set the tone with an invigorating speech centered around the theme ‘Let Us Run the Race’. “Only a healthy person can run the race. So, you must be a spiritually healthy person to run the race with Jesus. Fear the Lord and be obedient children to your parents, teachers, church fathers, and elders,” he said.
Guiding the day’s sessions, the diocesan Sunday school leader delved into an array of captivating topics. These included narratives about the life of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus), the inspirational tale of Tabitha (Dorcas) celebrated for her good works and acts of mercy (Acts 9:36-42), the impactful legacy of Mother Teresa, and ‘The Little Pencil in God’s Hand.’ The enriching sessions also spotlighted the transformative journey of St. Paul, formerly known as Saul of Tarsus, who evolved into Paul the Apostle and Saint Paul, propagating the teachings of Jesus Christ in the first-century world.
Amidst the program, the Sunday school teachers orchestrated engaging action songs, games, and craft activities that resonated with the children, infusing fun into learning.
Culminating the day’s excitement, prizes were awarded to the victorious children who excelled in the games, fostering an atmosphere of encouragement and celebration.
