In March 2012, Believers Church Jaigaon distributed 300 food packets in Jesu Ashram and Chetna Leprosy Colony in Siliguri.
A team of diocesan staff and Bridge of Hope staff visited the sites to distribute the food. Jesu Ashram is run by the Roman Catholic Church to provide free treatment to leprosy, HIV and tuberculosis patients. The Believers Church team distributed 130 packets of food here.
The other 170 food packets went to the leprosy colony. The patients who live here usually have to go around Siliguri to collect food in order to survive.
Jasbinder Paswan said, “Since my childhood I’ve been living in this colony. But this is the first time I experienced the wonderful care given by Believers Church. I’m so grateful.”
