Niranam Diocese Convention Begins

The annual convention of Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Niranam began on 3 February 2019.

Inaugurating the convention Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan said, “Each one of us is called to be light and salt to the world”.

Rev. Dr. Mothy Varkhey was the guest speaker. He spoke on the topic “The Lord’s Prayer” and brought out three key points – equality, fraternity and nearness. Samuel Mor Theophilus Episcopa, Mathews Mor Silvanus Episcopa, Dr. John M Chacko (CMD, Laurels School International) and Dr. George Chandy (Managing Director, Believers Church Medical College Hospital) were among those present.

The theme of this year’s convention is “Being the light of the world and salt of the earth”. Clergy and members from Believers Eastern Church parishes across Kerala will attend the one-week long convention, which will draw to a close on 10 February 2019 with worship and Eucharist.
