Believers Church Birtamod Diocese inaugurated a new well on the 19th August.
The people of the village had been struggling with water scarcity for a long time. They depended on a river as their source of water, but the level of water in the river went down in summer. So, they had to walk many kilometers for clean drinking water.
Realizing their need for a new water source, Birtamod Diocese installed a new well. Mr. Bashudev Bhattarai (Secretary of Village Development Committee) was invited as the chief guest for the occasion. In his speech he thanked Birtamod Diocese for their love towards the poor and needy.
Now after the new well was installed, the villagers are able to get clean drinking water on a daily basis. Around 120 people use the well for their daily needs such as cooking, drinking and cleaning.
“We are very happy and grateful to the church for providing us clean and pure water, before we were struggling with various diseases due to lack of clean water.” said Sangeeta.
Yashoda said, “Before, we had to walk a long distance to fetch water, but now we are able to fetch water in our own village.”
This is just one example of how Believers Church provides water to communities in need. Each year the church drills hundreds of wells in developing areas.
