Believers Church Sikkim installed and inaugurated a new water tank on the 26th of July.
The village has a population of 350 and is located in a hilly area. The villagers earn their livelihood mostly by farming. The villagers faced water problems for a long time because even though there was a water pipeline, there was no good tank in which to store the water for later use. Many people had to go to a natural fountain to fetch water for domestic needs.
The newly installed water tank solves the water problem in the village. Mr. S.T. Bhutia (Rural Management and Development Department Field In-Charge) was invited as the chief guest for the occasion. In his speech, he appreciated the work of Believers Church and thanked the church on behalf of the villagers for its love towards the poor and needy.
The village now benefits from the water tank each day. This is one of many initiatives Believers Church has taken to provide water for undeveloped communities.
