Believers Church Diocese of Bengaluru inaugurated a new water tank in a remote village on 27th April 2016.
The people living in this village faced acute water shortage every summer. There was only one water pump for the entire village which too used to dry up during the peak summer months. Hence, the villagers had to make arduous 2 km-long treks every day to gather enough water to cook, clean, bathe and drink. As most of them were daily wage workers and had to focus on earning a livelihood, it was difficult for them to go and fetch water from far off places.
Considering their need for a water source, Believers Church took the initiative to install a well in their village. During the inauguration of the well, the chief guests, Mr. Jayanad Bantriyal (Gramapanchayath president) and Mr. Thirteshwara (Gram panchayat member) appreciated Believers Church for the good work.
Now the villagers have sufficient water and over 50 families use this water tank on a daily basis.
