In the month of March, the Diocese of Siliguri dedicated 29 toilets in different locations. Around 140 people can access these new sanitation facilities.
Most of the villagers work in tea garden and are illiterate. Because of the lack of proper awareness, they use open places to defecate. To raise awareness and to avoid spreading of diseases, the church took the initiative to build toilets for the villagers.
This is one example of how Believers Church’s sanitation project is working to provide proper toilets in communities that lack safe and hygienic facilities.
