Bishop Dr. Simon John, the bishop of Diocese of Delhi, inaugurated the new building for the Asha Grih Girls’ Home on 20th October 2016 in Delhi.
Established in 2013, the Girls’ Home was being run from a rented building until now. It currently cares for as many as 28 girl children rescued from the streets. It is a residential care facility where children receive love, care, food, clothing, shelter, education, medical care, and a family atmosphere. The staff members of the Home provide around the clock supervision and make sure that the children feel secure, loved and have a sense of belonging.
The new building is spacious and can accommodate more children. It has a wide array of facilities where children can study, play and relax in a safe and supportive environment. The children have access to several amenities including a library, a large indoor playing area with good range of toys, a study room and a recreation room.
So far, 197 boys and 15 girls have been restored to their families through the tireless effort of Asha Grih Boys’ Home and Girls’ Home, respectively.
