Believers Church Diocese of Solan opened a new Bridge of Hope center in an underdeveloped area on June 15, 2016.
Most of the inhabitants of this place are laborers who work in the nearby factories. The wages they earn are not enough to feed their families three square meals a day, let alone afford a good education for their children. And there are many slums located adjacent to this area. The condition of the people living in these slums is all the more pitiable. They earn their living through collecting and selling scraps. So, providing a good education to their children remained a distant dream for them.
The church has been running adult literacy and children’s tuition classes in this area to improve education. However, there was still a need for Bridge of Hope. On the occasion of the inauguration, many of the residents came happily to enroll their children in this project. Inaugurating the program, the guest of honor, Mr. Shan Singh expressed his admiration for the church’s many philanthropic activities among the poor and needy communities.
At the function, Bridge of Hope staff explained that the vision of Believers Church as well as Bridge of Hope was to see that the children of the area would grow up to be the bright and shining stars of the nation and be a blessing to their fellow countrymen. At the end of the day, a total of 99 students were enrolled in this Bridge of Hope centre.
