Believers Church Udaipur Diocese inaugurated a new Bridge of Hope center for a community of snake charmers on the 17th of August.
Around 40 years ago, this community of people was dependent only on catching snakes and making them dance. But now the men are daily wage earners while the women and children engage in begging in the nearby residential colonies, markets, traffic junctions and public areas.
Although some have changed their lifestyle, most of them are still disorderly, untaught and unhealthy. Realizing their dire need for education Believers Church decided to open a new Bridge of Hope center in their midst.
For the inauguration program, Mr. Lakpathram Gurjur (Sarpanch), Mr. Vipin Besil (Muncipality Member) and Mr. Loknath (Village Head) were invited as the guests of honour. They thanked and appreciated Believers Church for its initiative to help these people. Around 500 people gathered for the occasion.
Kavita (9 years) has four brothers and two sisters. Her father is a daily wage earner whereas her mother is a beggar. Kavita also goes along with her mother for begging. Kavita and her parents are very happy for our Bridge of Hope Project. Her father, Madhavan expressed his thanks by joining his hands together. He said, “Thank you so very much for thinking about the lives of our children. My child will get a good education, since she has interest. My other children are not going to school, but I would surely send them for their education. If my children get education and find a bright future that is enough for me.”
Believers Church through Bridge of Hope aims to give education, nutritious meals and hope for a bright future to thousands of children who live in poverty.
