Three new bore wells were inaugurated in rural villages by the Diocese of Nagpur between 6th June and 11th June 2014. Every day more than 175 people use these new facilities.
The people in these villages lacked proper water facilities. Since most of the villagers were daily laborers, they could not afford a bore well. They had to walk kilometers to fetch even a bucket of water. Villagers suffered from waterborne disease, especially children.
But the bore well installed by the church changed their lives. Villagers are excited to use the well, which now supplies water for drinking, cooking and other needs. The villagers are very happy because the problem of water crisis is over.
These villages were a part of the church’s clean water project, which provides pure water to communities.
