New Bore Well Provides Clean Water to 100 People in the Diocese of Ranchi

The Diocese of Ranchi installed a new bore well in a remote village on 20th February 2014. More than 100 people fetch water from this new well every day.

The village where the bore well was installed was suffering due to water scarcity. There was no hand pump in that village and the water they used for their daily usage was from an open pond. This dirty water often became the cause for many waterborne diseases that sometimes led to deaths.

So, by seeing their great need for a clean and hygienic water source, the church took initiative to offer a new bore well for them. One villager said, “For a long period of time, we used the dirty and polluted water from the pond. But now, we are blessed with good and clean water through this new bore well.”
