New Archdioceses and Department Divisions Announced

The General Synod had multiple sessions on Monday which were led by H.G. Daniel Mor Timotheos of North America & Europe, Fr. Dr. Daniel Johnson, H.G. John Mor Irenaeus of Delhi Archdiocese and His Holiness Moran Mor Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan, all of whom encouraged the clergy and leaders of the Church to press on in their commitment to serve God and the Holy Church.

The Secretary to the Holy Synod, H.G. Joshua Mor Barnabas Episcopa of Kolkata and Jorhat then announced the Archdiocese divisions and Departments that had been recently revised by the Holy Synod, in accordance with the Constitution and the guidance of Metropolitan Athanasius Yohan I of blessed memory.

The new 11 archdioceses announced by the Holy Synod are listed as follows:

1. Trivandrum Archdiocese – led by HH The Metropolitan & HG Mathews Mor Silvanus Episcopa

2. Chennai Archdiocese – led by HG Martin Mor Aprem Episcopa

3. Delhi Archdiocese – led by HG John Mor Irenaeus Episcopa

4. Nagpur Archdiocese – led by HG Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa

5. Kolkata Archdiocese – led by HG Joshua Mor Barnabas Episcopa

6. Jorhat Archdiocese – led by HG Joshua Mor Barnabas Episcopa

7. Dhaka Archdiocese – led by HG Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa

8. Kathmandu Archdiocese – led by HG Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa

9. Colombo Archdiocese – led by HG Geevarghese Mor Makariose Episcopa

10. Kigali Archdiocese – led by HG Geevarghese Mor Makariose Episcopa
