The vice president of Nepal attended an Easter celebration in Believers Church Kathmandu Diocese on 31st March 2013. The event was organized by the local United Christian Society, chaired by Believers Church’s Rev. Fr. Santa.
Around 7,000 people gathered for the occasion in the local district center, which is a common ground for public and political meetings. Various district level political leaders participated in the program.
Honorable Vice President Parmananda Jha spoke highly of the social work done by the Nepali Christian community to develop the nation. He also presented an award to Bishop Dr. Narayan Sharma commending Believers Church’s service in Nepal.
When Bishop Narayan took the stage, he spoke about the meaning of Easter. Local FM radio stations and cable TV ran live programs of the event, bringing the uplifting message to many.
The social work of Believers Church in Nepal includes educating poor children, teaching adult literacy, showing compassion to the needy and spreading positive social values through popular radio broadcasts.
