Believers Church Kathmandu Diocese concluded a four-day primary health seminar on 26th January 2013. The church partnered with a local organization, The Help and Concerned, to raise personal health and sanitation awareness among women.
60 ladies participated in the program, learning about common health problems that women face. Since these women have had little formal education, the information was new to them. Health coordinator Gita Pulami said if women are careful about their personal cleanliness, nutrition and sanitation, many problems will be solved.
Raising health awareness is just one of the ways Believers Church is developing communities. For example, many women who attended this health training are also taking adult literacy classes through a local Believers Church Women’s Fellowship unit.
