Believers Church Nellore Diocese built toilets for a community lacking sanitation and inaugurated them on 24th January. Village president Shri S. Venkateswara Rao attended as special guest. He explained the need for toilets in the village.
“Believers Church leadership understood the necessity of this village,” the village president said, “and provided 22 toilets for the needy people. I appreciate their initiatives.”
Rev. Fr. Varaprasad shared that only 18-25% of the rural population of India uses toilets. Many without proper sanitation suffer from various diseases. As the church inaugurated new toilets in the village, community members expressed their thanks.
“I am a widow and having a polio-affected daughter,” said a woman named Laxmi. “Ten years back, I laid a foundation stone for toilets, but due to financial problems I could not complete that construction. But Believers Church took initiative to construct a beautiful toilet and my dream came true.”
Believers Church contributes to the health and sanitation of hundreds of communities through constructing toilets.
