Believers Church Nellore Diocese started tailoring training classes in six Bridge of Hope centers in November 2013. One hundred eighty-five people attended the inauguration program.
Families in the surrounding communities were unable to provide education and nutrition to their children unless both the husband and wife worked. The tailoring classes will give women the skills needed to contribute to the family income and run their family smoothly.
Special guest Mrs. Lalitha (group leader for Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) appreciated Believers Church’s initiative to begin the vocational training. The new tailoring students also expressed their thanks. “This program is one kind of encouragement to housewives,” said a woman named Surya. “I am happy to be a part of this program today.”
This is just one of the many ways Believers Church empowers the poor to sustain themselves.
