On 15 April 2021 Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Kohalpur held a mosquito net distribution program in one of the villages of Nepal.
A majority of the people of this village have migrated from hilly districts and are dependent on daily labor to make a living. During the summer, this place becomes extremely hot and the main problem people face during this season is diseases transmitted by mosquitoes.
The distribution was held in the presence of the municipality chairman who handed out the mosquito nets to 60 needy people.
Khrishna Shahi was one of those who received a mosquito net, the first net she has ever received or owned. She came to the program in ragged worn out clothes carrying her granddaughter who is mentally challenged. It is with much difficulty that Krishna and her husband are taking care of this little girl whose mother left her in their care after marrying another man. Kirshna Shahi was very happy to receive the mosquito net and thanked the church for the great help.
Believers Eastern Church each year distributes hundreds and thousands of mosquito nets to poor families that cannot afford mosquito nets. These families can now sleep safely at night without the risk of contracting malaria.
