In a momentous gathering at the Hyderabad Diocesan Headquarters, the priests and faithful from the Dioceses of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana came together to honor the newly enthroned second Metropolitan, His Holiness Moran Mor Samuel Theophilus. Over 700 devoted members of the Church attended the event, expressing their deep love, commitment, and prayers for His Holiness.
The ceremony was coordinated by Rev. Fr. Varaprasad Rao, Vicar General and Vicariate-in-Charge of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The event featured a Presidential Address by His Eminence Martin Mor Aprem Episcopa and His Grace Joseph Mor Demetrius Episcopa, both of whom emphasized the spiritual significance of the occasion and the continued blessings for the dioceses under His Holiness’s leadership.
Representatives from six dioceses—Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Kadapa, Vizag, Rajahmundry, and Vijayawada—delivered words of felicitation and prayers, expressing their admiration for His Holiness’s leadership. Diocesan bishops, clergy, and laity reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the Church’s mission and sought His Holiness’s blessings for the continued growth and spiritual flourishing of the Church in the Telugu states. They also expressed their aspiration to uphold the legacy of the reposed Metropolitan, Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan of blessed memory.
In his heartfelt response, His Holiness Moran Mor Samuel Theophilus shared his gratitude, stating, “Coming to Hyderabad feels like coming home.” He affirmed his commitment to serve with humility and devotion, leading the Church forward with unity, faith, and Christ’s love.
