Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan Calls for Prayer as Cyclone Amphan Approaches India and Bangladesh

In a few hours, a super cyclone, Cyclone Ambhan is supposed to hit West Bengal, before travelling into Bangladesh.

I just talked for an hour with HG Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa who leads our dioceses in that region. All the believers there are now praying desperately, that the Lord would intervene to stop this cyclone from hitting them. If it hits at the rate it’s coming now, West Bengal, Bangladesh and Odisha will be devastated.

Our churches are ready with whatever means to respond to the crisis, helping to rescue stranded people and bring relief to those who will lose everything.

They have stocked up supplies for 15 days since there won’t be anywhere to buy anything, in order to help provide as much relief as possible.

Coronavirus has already paralyzed the whole community and this disaster will just make this whole situation worse. Because of the lockdown associated with Coronavirus, evacuations have been severely hindered.

I am asking you to join with me to look up and to activate your faith. God is on the throne and He is in control over all nature.

We desperately need to pray for God’s protection. In John 10:10, Jesus said its Satan’s purpose to destroy everything. But our God is the One who is able to tell even the winds and the waves to be still. Please stand with me in prayer for protection over our brothers and sisters and the many who live in these areas. I know you will.
