On Global Hand Washing Day, 15th October 2010, the Nagpur Diocese Girls Minor Seminary conducted a rally to teach the surrounding community about the importance of hand washing. Nearly 60 seminary students and staff helped make the event possible.
Rally participants marched through the roads of the nearby villages. The participants carried banners with various slogans such as “Health is Wealth” in Hindi and Marathi. Along the way, they distributed leaflets about the benefits of hand washing.
Practical hand washing demonstrations were conducted throughout the streets of the nearby villages. Many villagers and schoolchildren watched the Minor Seminary staff and learned how to properly wash their hands with soap. Our staff and students then visited a local school and showed a hand washing video produced by Believers Church.
As this program was going on, simultaneous hand washing events were being conducted all over the nation. Believers Church puts a high value on hygiene and seeks to educate as many communities as possible on this vital topic.
