Believers Church Diocese of Patna inaugurated a skill development program and an income generating gift distribution for underprivileged women on 12th October 2014.
The program was inaugurated by Smt. Leshi Singh (Minister of Social Welfare, Bihar), Sri. Samrat Chaudhary (Minister of Urban Development) and Bishop M.A. Lalachan. Smt. Leshi Singh, in her address, appreciated the efforts of the church in empowering the women in our society and also offered all the help required on behalf of the Government of Bihar. Shri Samrat Choudhary also invited the church to work with the Government in its plan to provide skill education to 30,000 slum dwellers.
Later, both ministers together distributed the sewing machines to 100 women, who were selected with the help of Bihar Government’s Mahila helpline.
Sri, Imamudin Ahamad (Director of Social Welfare), Sri Gopal Prasad Keshari (District Program Officer) and Dr. G. Pramila Kumari (Project Manager, Mahila Help Line) were also present during the program.
Believers Church works to empower the downtrodden in the society by giving them some means or by teaching them some skills that can be used to generate an income, support themselves and bring them out of poverty.
