On 18th December 2016, Believers Church Diocese of Niranam held a pre-Christmas celebration where Christmas gifts were distributed to over 4,300 children hailing from economically backward families.
Mrs. K.K. Shylaja (Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Kerala), inaugurated the program. Lauding the church for its commendable work among children, she said helping and considering the poor and needy was the nature of Jesus and this is reflected in what Believers Church does for the community today.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Mr. C.K Saseendran (MLA), Very Rev. Fr. Abraham Mathew Cor Episcopa (St. Thomas Orthodox Church), Rev. Fr. Shaji Paul (St. Thomas Orthodox Church) and Mrs. Reena Sunil (Panchayath president).
Over 4,000 people attended this event where Bridge of Hope children presented vibrant and colorful dances related to the theme of Christmas and enthralled them with their performances.
At the end, the Minister distributed special gifts such as iron box and clothing sets to underprivileged children and presented awards to the winners of national level drawing competition 2016 (Colors of Hope). Over 4,300 children received the gift items that day.
