Minister Distributes 900 Mosquito Nets to the Poor in Diocese of Agartala

In observance of World Mosquito Day, Diocese of Agartala organized a mosquito net distribution program on 20 August 2018.

Shri. Mevar Kumar Jamatia (Cabinet Minister of Tribal Welfare and Forest) was the chief guest of the program. Shri. Dhiren Debbarma (Member of Legislative Assembly) and Bishop Anil Kumar Debbarma also were present on the occasion.

Inaugurating the event, Shri Mevar Kumar Jamatia said, “Believers Eastern Church is doing a great work by helping the poor and needy. The church is able to reach and help the people in even hardest-to-reach areas. I acknowledge and appreciate the good work of the church. The church really knows that serving humanity is serving God.” He also encouraged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the free gift, so that they can protect themselves from sicknesses spread by mosquitoes.

On the occasion, 900 mosquito nets were distributed to people, including students of two schools.
