The first crop from Believers Church’s new polyhouse in Kerala was harvested by Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan on 22nd April 2013. The produce – including tomatoes, lady’s fingers, cucumbers, beans and chilies – will be sold locally.
The polyhouse is the largest in the state and will become a model for agricultural initiatives in other dioceses of Believers Church. The advanced technology of the polyhouse allows vegetables to grow quickly and naturally without pesticides.
The church plans to use this type of polyhouse to promote health and income generation in developing communities.
