Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan officiated the dedication service of the seventh batch of Sisters of Compassion at the Synod Secretariat on 12th August 2014. A total of 73 sisters from 19 different Dioceses were dedicated for serving the needy communities.
Bishop Dr. Samuel Mathew presented the sisters to the metropolitan for dedication. The sisters received a symbol of the cross from the metropolitan as a sign of their servanthood and commitment and then he prayed for and dedicated them.
“You sisters are very precious to us and our church,” said the metropolitan. “Your service to the needy, leprosy patients, slum-dwellers, street children and downtrodden will bring a new hope and peace in their lives.”
These sisters have completed their six months of training and soon, they will be going to serve the people in leprosy colonies, slums and also among street children and widows.
