The Synod Secretariat of Believers Church held an awareness program for World Environment Day for 150 people on 5th June. Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan began the meeting by talking about the importance of maintaining a clean environment.
Mr. A Gopakumar (Revenue Divisional Officer) shared about environmental awareness, proper waste management and the positive impact of planting trees. Special guest Varghese C. Thomas (chief sub-editor from the Malayala Manorama) appreciated the Synod Secretariat’s campus, saying he’d seen many churches, but Believers Church was the only “green church” he’d seen.
At the end of the program, Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan planted a paradise tree in front of the Synod Secretariat to symbolize the church’s desire to maintain and improve the environment.
