Malnourished Community Receives Free Lunch

Believers Church Siliguri Diocese distributed 500 packaged lunches to the hungry on 8th March 2013. The church’s Sisters of Compassion regularly works among the needy community in this place.

The people here lack nutrition to the point that some children’s stomachs are severely distended as a result.

“My husband is sick,” said a local woman named Mamuni, “and I am also very sick. We have a small son, but we do not have any means of survival. Today we got these food packages and we are so thankful to Believers Church.”

Speaking of the program, Rev. Fr. Raju said, “If we want to make our nation strong, then we should have concern for needy ones.”

Believers Church is reaching out to the needy not only here, but in hundreds of locations.
