On 8th March 2011, Believers Church Lucknow Dicoese staff and Women’s Fellowship members took initiative to give food and vitamins without cost to the poor.
The team went to a leprosy colony in Mohanlalganj to distribute packets of fresh fruit to leprosy patients taking refuge there. When the staff approached the local authorities for permission to do the distribution, they were very happy and gladly gave permission. Pastor Jacob inaugurated the program by handing out the first fruit packet.
A total of 175 fruit packets were distributed, each containing one apple, some grapes, an orange and a few bananas. The leprosy patients were really excited to receive the packets and thanked Believers Church for the kind gift.
On the same day, Lucknow Diocese Women’s Fellowship members distributed free vitamins in Matthi village in honor of International Women’s Day. They gave away 100 vitamin packages to Matthi women, providing protection against disease.
The church cares about needy communities and seeks every opportunity to contribute to their health and well-being. Through these initiatives, South Asian nations are growing stronger, starting at the foundational level of village communities.
