Lucknow Diocese Holds Medical Camp in Slum on World Health Day
April 7, 2014In honor of World Health Day, Believers Church Lucknow Diocese organized a medical camp in a slum on 7th April. Sixty children and 30 adults gathered for the camp.
A team of seven medical professionals led by Dr. Sunil Kumar and Dr. Sanjeev Sinha provided free checkups for the slum dwellers and prescribed medicines according to their need. Women’s Fellowship members also distributed multivitamin tablets to pregnant women and new mothers.
Healthcare is just a part of how Believers Church helps those in need. This same slum area is regularly served by a team of Sisters of Compassion, who tutor local children and teach literacy classes for women.
