Lucknow Diocese Celebrates Founder’s Day with Poor and Needy

Believers Church Lucknow Diocese celebrated Founder’s day, the birthday of Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan on 8th March 2014. A food distribution program was organized on that day for the most impoverished people in the society.

Food packets were distributed among slum dwellers, beggars and hospital patients. The food distribution program was followed by a free medical camp and a free dental checkup. More than 150 people benefited from the camps.

A poverty alleviation program was also conducted to mark the day. Two hundred twenty-seven people received gifts such as cycle rickshaws, cycle thelas, agricultural spray machines and blankets.

Rt. Rev. Antony (Bishop of Roman Catholic Church) was the chief guest of the program. He in his speech said, “Believers Church is representing and doing the remaining task of Jesus Christ.”

Believers Church always cares for and uplifts the impoverished and downtrodden people. This is one example of how the church shows its concern towards them.
