Local Churches in Diocese of Niranam Distribute Rations and Food Packets to 85 People

Two local parishes in Believers Eastern Church Dioceses of Niranam organized food and dry ration kit distribution on 10 June 2021 to render help to people affected by Covid-19.

The priest and parish members of Emmanuel Believers Eastern Church parish in Kollam District distributed 45 food packets among the poor people on the streets, including passers-by and truck drivers. Mr. Shijo P Mathew, local panchayat secretary and Mr. Suresh Babu, municipal chairman were also involved in the distribution of food packets.

St. John’s Believers Eastern Church parish in Pathanamthitta district distributed dry ration kits consisting of rice, sugar, pulses, tea powder, chilly powder, wheat flour and oil to 38 poor and needy families. The beneficiaries thanked the church for reaching out to them with much-needed food supplies.

Liji, a recipient of the dry ration kit, said, “My family has been struggling without enough grocery items since last week. We feel so happy and relieved now.”
