Local Church Travels 300 Kilometers with Flood Aid

In January 2011, Rev. Fr. Akalahandige led a team of his church members to the northern part of Sri Lanka to bring relief to flood victims. Starting out in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka, the team traveled about 300 kilometers to reach their destination.

The Believers Church team carried 85 aid packets containing rice, dal, sugar, soya meat, coconut and soap for those affected by the flood. They also cleaned the houses of local people and assisted them as much as possible. The entire community benefited from the team’s desire to help and restore.
