Believers Church Changlang observed International Literacy Day with a literacy class unit on 8th September 2014. Thirty-five women, including literacy class students attended the program that day.
The main purpose of organizing this a program was to raise awareness about the importance of educating the community. Games and classes were conducted for the participants to mark the importance of the day.
The women thanked church for offering them a chance to learn how to read and write. “Thank you so much opening a literacy class in my village,” said Sochi Doley, one participant. “Now, I am able to read and write.”
Believers Church organizes awareness events and rallies, starts new literacy units, shares about the importance of literacy and honors those who have learned to read on International Literacy Day.
