On the 9th of September 2012 a literacy awareness program was conducted in Believers Church Himachal Pradesh.
Sis.Roma addressed the gathering by pointing out the value and importance of education. She also introduced the Womens Fellowship’s Literacy classes.
A Majority of the people in the village are Nepali. They shift from one place to another for their occupation. Due to the shifts, their children discontinue their studies.
Those who attended were motivated and said that, “we will motivate and help others to educate their children. Not only that we are also willing to study.”
Believers Church is fighting against the challenge of illiteracy all over South Asia with adult literacy classes in 13 major languages. Along with this, thousands of children are receiving education through literacy centers and the Bridge of Hope project.
