16 families in Siliguri Diocese live and struggle together in a leprosy colony. Those who can walk go into town every weekend to beg.
In honor of World Leprosy Day, a Believers Church Women’s Fellowship team visited the colony. They distributed health and hygiene items and 18 kg of rice to each family.
“Whatever God has given us to survive in this world, out of that we want to share something with you,” said Rev.Fr. Raju, who accompanied the women’s team. “Apart from this we want to tell you that God loves you all.”
The leprosy patients were so happy with their gifts. Colony resident Balaram explained that they have to go house to house
to beg for even a handful of rice. The heavy bags of rice from Believers Church made the whole colony grateful.
This was one of many initiatives taken by Believers Church on World Leprosy Day.
