With a commitment to showing love and support to those abandoned by society, a Women’s Fellowship team from Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Hyderabad organized a food distribution program at a leprosy colony on World Leprosy Day. The harsh reality of street begging as the primary source of income for the majority of the colony’s inhabitants paints a stark picture of their daily struggles. Extreme poverty renders them unable to afford even a single nutritious meal each day.
Moved by the plight of these individuals, the Women’s Fellowship team took proactive steps to alleviate their suffering. To execute this benevolent initiative, the team diligently raised funds. Utilizing the collected amount, they purchased a variety of groceries, vegetables, and chicken to prepare a delicious and wholesome meal. The effort culminated in the distribution of these meals to fifty people within the leprosy colony, encompassing leper patients, beggars, and the needy alike.
Expressing their gratitude, the inhabitants of the colony conveyed heartfelt thanks to the Women’s Fellowship team for not only providing nourishment but also for bringing joy and a sense of care to their lives through the distributed food packets.
