On 9th March 2015, a team of Sisters of Compassion in Believers Church Diocese of Bilaspur organized social welfare programs in two leper colonies.
They invited Mr. Jaisingh Agarwal (MLA) as the chief guest. He appreciated the church for its willingness to serve these people who are being neglected in society and to care for their needs. He then distributed the items to each beneficiary and expressed his sincere gratitude for making him a part of this program.
43 leper families received grocery items, blankets, bed sheets, towels, sarees and some utensils. “Only very few people come and visit us here,” said Rakesh, a leprosy affected man. “Thank you so much for coming and for giving us these items.”
Through social welfare programs and its Poverty Alleviation Project, Believers Church cares to provide the most basic needs to those who are being rejected and neglected in the society.
