Believers Church Haryana organized blanket distribution programs in leprosy colonies on 11th and 17th December. Due to the severe cold in the northern region, people usually cover themselves in thick clothes and stay indoors. But poor people who can’t afford this have no choice.
The team, consisting of church workers, Sisters of Compassion and Minor Seminary students, distributed 400 blankets over the two days. They spent time with the leprosy patients, celebrated Christmas with them and served them food.
Ms. Kumariya said, “Thanks to Believers Church for the clothes. In winter it will really help us.” Some people couldn’t even believe that they received a new blanket and that it was their own.
Believers Church believes that God’s love must be demonstrated by caring for the needy. This blanket distribution program is one of many examples of the church’s concern for the impoverished.
