Believers Church Sikkim distributed relief supplies to landslide victims in a tea estate in Darjeeling District on 5th July 2015.
The heavy rainfall and continuous landslides caused 40 people to lose their lives. Many people lost their houses and their crops. Now, they are struggling for food and water. But, reaching to them with relief supplies was so difficult since their roads were also completely destroyed. Still, the church was able to reach to them with help.
That day, the church distributed 30 bundles of tin sheets, 31 rice bags, 62 kg mustard oil, 62 kg dhal, 62 kg sugar and 20 pieces of tarpaulin to 15 families. They all thanked the church for the immediate relief they have received.
When some natural calamities occurs, Believers Church reaches out to the victims with immediate help and relief through its humanitarian assistance project.
