A World Food Day program was organized by Believers Church Kolkata on 16th October 2011. More than 200 orphans, beggars and needy ones in the district of Kolkata were fed on this occasion.
All the staff members and Minor Seminary students contributed to the program. The students of both the girls and boys Minor Seminary fasted in order to share their meal with the hungry.
Under the guidance of Bishop Dr. Juria Bardhan, food packets were distributed mainly in three locations in Barasat: Madhyamgram, Birati Railway Station and New Barrackpore. Staff and students of our Minor Seminaries as well as Women’s Fellowship members participated in the food distribution program. A number of food packets went to an orphanage in Madhyamgram where 50 orphan children are residing.
The people who received the food packets were extremely happy and they expressed their gratitude to the Believers Church ministry in Kolkata for this act of benevolence.
