On 23rd July, Believers Church Kathmandu Diocese organized an inaugural ceremony for its newly built Bridge of Hope center.
Rev. Fr. Chitra, officially inaugurated the center by cutting a ribbon. Two hundred people including parents and one hundred students attended the occasion.
In his inaugural speech, Rev. Fr. Chitra said, “I am deeply grateful to our Metropolitan. Now, our children will have classrooms in which to do their homework, read and learn. They will have teachers from whom they can get help for comprehending difficult subjects like science and mathematics. They will also get educational materials. They will learn moral lessons from this center.”
Simon (Bridge of Hope) said, “Right now, we have enrolled one hundred local children. They will spend two hours a day getting help for their studies from our teachers. In the near future, the Bridge of Hope center is planning to start adult literacy and tailoring classes, mainly for empowering women of this area.”
Mr. Ram Gopal Singh is a retired local high school teacher who was invited for the occasion. He said, “If we guide the children, they will be able to lead a good life and contribute a lot to our homes, society and nation. I greatly appreciate this center for stretching out its arm to educate our backward and poor children. ”
These kids are joining more than 67,000 students who receive education, medical services, social awareness and nutritious food through Bridge of Hope.
