Believers Church Ranchi Diocese began a three-day seminar to train community healthcare teachers on 15th May 2013. Thirty women came to learn about health, hygiene, childcare and other topics relevant to the wellbeing of rural communities.
Mr. Bandhu Tirkey (MLA) inaugurated the program by lighting a traditional lamp. He commended Believers Church’s contribution for the downtrodden and marginalized. Noting the Christian church’s role through the ages in providing healthcare and education for the poor, Mr. Bandhu spoke of the importance of such training for a healthy society. He both challenged the participants and offered his help.
After the seminar, the women will regularly travel to various communities to teach life-saving healthcare information. This is just one part of Believers Church work to improve health in developing nations. The church also provides care through medical camps, vitamin distributions, awareness programs and hospitals.
