Believers Church Jasidih Diocese celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March, which was also recognized by the church as Founder’s Day. The program started with a cake cutting to celebrate the birthday of Metropolitan Dr. K.P. Yohannan. Later, there were exhibition programs by Bridge of Hope children and a sewing machine distribution for women enrolled in Bridge of Hope’s tailoring class.
Smt. Ameeta Rakshit (mayor) was the chief guest of the program. She appreciated the church for taking such a step to strengthen women by giving tailoring training and providing sewing machines. She was amazed to see the talent of the Bridge of Hope children and a display of clothes made by the tailoring unit.
Ekta, a widow from the village, received training from the Bridge of Hope’s tailoring unit, but couldn’t afford a sewing machine on her own. During the program she received a sewing machine and was very happy. She said, “Thanks to the church, this sewing machine will be great means to meet the financial needs of my family.”
This was one of many programs Believers Church held on this day to honor and empower women. Bringing hope to their life is one of the main aims of church.
