On 23rd March, 2012 there was a celebration of World Water Day by Believers Church Jammu & Kashmir. The Women’s Fellowship team took initiative to raise awareness about the importance of water in a small slum in Jammu near Gangayal.
Around 60 people, including children, attended the program. There was special teaching about the usefulness and benefits of water. The resource persons were Pastor Dhananjay, Prasanna (diocesan staff), and Jeeva (Women’s Fellowship leader in Jammu and Kashmir). They used slogans to communicate the importance of water, such as, “Without water there cannot be food produced,” and “Save water; save life.” They also educated the slum-dwellers about the need to drink clean water, save water, bathe, wash clothes and clean dirty streets and sewers.
