After severe flooding in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, a Believers Church relief team from Jammu set out on a rugged journey to help. After four days of traveling across hilly areas, the six-member team safely reached the city of Leh on 13th October 2010.
Before the team left, local churches, Minor Seminary students and Believers Church office staff contributed various items to donate to the flood victims. The team members—Pastor Bunty, Gurnam, Alak, Raju, Vicky and Sunny—carried the food, clothes and other items to Leh.
The relief workers teamed up with Rev. Fr. Thomas and Rev. Fr. Jagan (Vicar General) to distribute the supplies. The church provided dry rations to 100 families in the nearby villages with (atta, rice, dal, sugar and salt), woolen clothes, blankets and cattle feed.
Believers Church works throughout South Asia to help the distressed after natural disasters – regardless of the amount effort it takes.
