Believers Church Jammu organized awareness programs on Global Hand Washing Day (15th October 2010) in the village of Kullian.
The motivation behind these programs was to help people understand how to prevent disease. This basic subject is frequently neglected in schools. So on Global Hand Washing Day, the church took a strong initiative to reach into schools and other areas to spread the importance of hand washing.
A team of six individuals led by Pastor John and Mrs. Jeeva (Women’s Fellowship coordinator) went to Kabir High School in Kalas Kullian. Around 80 children gathered, and the team explained the importance of hand washing.
Pastor John demonstrated practically how to wash hands properly. The children also eagerly watched a short film about hand washing. The children and teachers were happy to learn and participate during the program.
The team then moved to the Kullian Bridge of Hope center where a similar program was planned. Parents were very excited to learn how to help their growing children stay free from sickness.
Global Hand Washing Day was observed by Believers Church in many communities throughout South Asia. Thousands of people received information to significantly aid in sustaining their health and well-being.
