Independence Day 2022 – Believers Eastern Church Parishes Across India Celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Believers Eastern Church dioceses across India celebrated the 76th Independence Day of the nation with patriotic fervor by hoisting the tricolour and singing the national anthem and patriotic songs to mark 75 years of India’s independence.

Responding to the clarion call of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ given by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to hoist the national flag of India in homes from 13th to 15th August 2022, Believers Eastern Church parishes, priests and the faithful enthusiastically hoisted the national flag at their respective homes, churches and offices.

As part of AzadiKa Amrit Mahotsov celebrations, St. Thomas Community participated in Har Ghar Tiranga campaign by hoisting the tricolor with pride and patriotism. H.G. Samuel Mor Thoeophilus Episcopa hoisted the flag while the Independence Day message was delivered by H.G. Joshua Mor Barnabas Episcopa. A large number of members from the community attended the colourful event.

On the eve of the 76th Independence Day celebrations, priests and members of our church in Hyderabad participated in a Tiranga demonstration. They took out a rally carrying an 80-meter-long tricolour as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.

In honor of this day, various parishes organized cultural programs. Wearing traditional attires, children and youth showcased their talents by dancing to tunes of patriotic songs, giving powerful Independence Day speeches and singing heartwarming patriotic songs.
